Great news coming from San Francisco!! *spins* My little doggy heart sank when I read that last week, a guardia-infected puppy was stolen from the San Francisco SPCA, and that her chances of survival were slim since she was sick
But thanks to an amazing SFPD officer, he noticed and recognized the dog being walked by a man near the SPCA region. Check out the full statement by the SPCA below:
“The San Francisco SPCA is thrilled to announce that Cassidy, the puppy taken from Maddie’s Adoption Center on Wednesday, has been found.
An SFPD officer saw a dog that looked like Cassidy being walked by a man in the general vicinity of the SFSPCA earlier today. The officer phoned the SFSPCA and a staff member identified the dog on the spot, where it was confirmed that she was the missing puppy. No charges will be filed in the case.
Cassidy is infected with the small intestinal disease giardia and she is now getting the care and medical treatment she needs. She will be available for adoption when she recovers.
The San Francisco SPCA thanks the SFPD, the media and the community for helping us find Cassidy. “
YAYY!!! *SPIN* Victory for us in doggy-world! Now this sweet girl will get the chance for adoption the right way once she’s healthy and ready to take on her forever-home! I wanna give a special shout out to the SFPD for keeping my city safe, and saving this pooch from… yeesh, who knows what? I don’ t know if any of you readers told your friends about this pup, but no matter what, the word of mouth that a community can spread can definitely save a life, so give yourselves a big ol’ paw on the back!! Every little bit helps!
If you ever want to help dogs in need but in a hands-on type of way? Volunteer at your local animal shelter to walk adoptable dogs or donate dog beds, crates, blankets and towels!
spread the love!
